Technical writer by day, fashionista all the time. While I can write about very technical subjects, I also love fashion and nearly everything that goes along with it.
I got into technical writing because I like to write, but my talent is explaining complex subjects rather than writing The Great American Novel (although I wish I could!). And since I believe you can't be a good writer (technical or otherwise) without being a good reader, I read a lot.
I developed an interest in fashion design because I like to draw, but I'm no artist - I don't paint or weld sculptures from old tractor parts or encase myself in a glass box and brush my teeth. What I do is express myself through my ridiculous clothes and shoes, and operation and maintenance manuals.
You might find some of the things I like peppered throughout my blog: cats, history, tea, zombies, vampires, French, and a smidge of Russian.
There's a lot of fashion and personal style blogs out there - I know, I read them! Here you'll find United Nude mixed with New York & Company mixed with Maison Martin Margiela, with a lot of Target thrown in. So if you like watching trends, but prefer your fashion with a dark underbelly, you've come to the right place.

P.S. You might be wondering what a technical writer knows about fashion. I earned a fashion design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
